Welcome! Since the first Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concert in the spring of 1997, we have presented performances almost annually to raise awareness and funds to benefit the following charities which are concerned with the quality of life for persons with AIDS and the remembrance of lives lost: the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, in Newark; The AIDS Memorial Quilt – NJ Chapter (formerly the NAMES Project of Northern NJ), which supports the AIDS Memorial Quilt; and EDGE New Jersey (formerly NJ AIDS Services and The Eric Johnson House), which provides supportive services, housing opportunities, prevention strategies and community education in New Jersey. Since the concerts began, over $200,000 has been raised in support of this music ministry.

Our 2024 concerts were a success – thank you to all who attended and supported the concerts!

We are still accepting donations through May 1st for the 2024 contributions that will be made to the benefiting organizations (Edge NJ, the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, and the NAMES Project of NJ).  Any donations received after that time will be held for our 2025 concerts.

About

The first Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concert occurred in the spring of 1997, when composer Virginia Johnston and fellow musician Pamela Taylor had the idea of presenting an evening of music that would directly benefit those in New Jersey affected by HIV/AIDS.
